From Problems to winning strategies: How I work
Problems into numbers and stories into winning strategies. Everybody faces problems and challenges. Overcoming them begins with understanding. If we take the time and effort to really investigate, we can often see our problems and challenges in a whole new light. In our new story, challenges often become opportunities. When we take advantage of opportunities no one else can see, we create a competitive advantage. The marriage of our competitive advantage and existing resources is a winning strategy.

Sequoia Integrative Therapies - Outcome: 300% growth
Spring 2018
Sequoia knew their dream business model was Intensive Outpatient Care, but thought it would take years to implement. Meanwhile, the new start up was quickly running out of runway. I helped them craft a strategy to shift their existing resources towards the new higher-revenue business model, extending that sweet, sweet runway. Sequoia has so far achieved a 300% growth in monthly revenue with their new strategy.
I designed this 3-panel marketing pamphlet for Sequoia. The goal of the campaign is to persuade external mental health providers to refer their clients to Sequoia’s supplementary treatment program as an alternative to expensive inpatient programs. It’s written with the audience’s specialized education in mind. There are two main goals of this pamphlet: first, to describe the program and emphasize the evidence-based rigor in its design; second to emphasize that this program is an affordable and effective alternative to inpatient treatment.

Port of seattle, Aviation Security - Huge Risk identified and planned for
Fall 2013 - Spring 2014
During a comprehensive review of the department’s compliance with federal security regulations as well as the ability to effectively secure the airport, I identified a security vulnerability which could have an impact measured in 100s of millions of dollars per day in lost business. I was able to identify that vulnerability because I conducted estimates of the vulnerability’s impact and passenger flows that had never been conducted before. With new knowledge comes better preparedness.
